The new hall was first mentioned in the minutes in January 1934. It was to be 50ft. long and 25ft. wide, and similar to Killaloo's old hall.
The W.M. at that time was the late Bro. Robert McBeth better known as 'Bob the Blacksmith'. Then in February 1934 a new W.M. late Bro. W.A. Nutt, was elected and Sec., Bro.J. Riddles, who is still a member of the Lodge.
It was a bid undertaking to construct a hall with only 20 members and £13.17s.4d. in the kitty. Three contractors were asked to price the building of our hall and the prices were as follows: Cairns of Claudy, £ 110, Knobbs of the 'Oaks' £ 98 and Allen's of Donemana £105. Knobbs got the contract at the April meeting in 1934. A Bro. Sam Buchanan took the contract to quarry the stone for the hall - £ 8.
Around that time a big fund raising drive took place. A ball dance) was set for the 20th April 1934. Admission : Gents - one of a tanner, and ladies - a bob, including refreshments.
Bro. James Nutt's contract for digging out the ground to build the hall was £ 13. Timber and slates for the hall came from J.P. Corr - £ 100
The 12th July 1934 was held in Strabane. A bus to Strabane cost £12.12s.6d - members 1s.9d for bus; 1s for tea.
Knobbs started contract - August, 1934 and was paid £ 20 for the first payment part built. A new set of deeds were drawn up at a cost of £3.16s.0d
A Mrs Campbell to pay half of cost. At September meeting 1934, Knobbs got another part payment of £ 40 and at the October meeting 1934, Knobbs got the final payment of £38
A William James Gardener got the contract to fix the roof and slates for £11.15s old Hall near complete - April 1935
Members still with us today and took an active part in fund raising and voluntary work at hall - Willie Moore, Robert Cowan, Robert Simpson and Tommy Hamilton, Senior.
At the May 1935 meeting, it was decided to ask Bro.E.S.Murphy, M.P. to open the new hall on Saturday 1st June 1935. News items from 'Londonderry Sentinel', Tuesday morning 4th June 1935
